Attractions:

  • The Quad (center of campus) – This is a couple of blocks from the stadium and is grand central for most of the tailgates, etc.
  • Bryant Museum – Great football museum, and also has a few exhibits from Bear’s time at A&M

Drinking:

  • Gallettes
  • Yellow Hammer
  • Houndstooth (one of the best bars in Tuscaloosa)
  • Rounders (just got a remake and looks awesome, is right across the street from Houndstooth)
  • Stay away from Egans (weird bar/people)
  • Innesfree

Food:

  • Sweet Home Food Bar
  • Dreamlands BBQ
  • City Café (for comfort foods, double check what times they’re open and if there’s a wait)
  • Waysider (amazing breakfast)
  • Rama Jamas (when it’s open)
  • Mugshots (really good burgers)
  • Mama Goldberg’s (amazing sweet tea and good sandwhiches)

Things to do on Gameday:

  • Get to campus early because traffic is an absolute nightmare

2017 Road Trip Preparations

Hey tailgate crew!  We’re 1 year out from our road trip to Florida next year!  That means, over the next few months, you’ll see hotels start becoming available.  I’ve already booked a room at the Country Inn & Suites in Gainesville.  Doesn’t mean I will for sure be staying there, but at least I’ve guaranteed that I have a place to stay.  If I find a better deal between now and the cancellation time, I may jump on it.  Remember, everyone is responsible for their own lodging accommodations when we take these trips!

Looking forward to a week from now when the Aggies invade Tuscaloosa!

Rocky Top, oh dear god make it stop and get that song out of my head!

Biggest home game since Bama came to town for their revenge tour, so of course, we gotta have one of our biggest tailgates!  In honor of playing UT, we’re gonna have a Tennessee Hot Chicken menu (I know it’s not Nashville, but we won’t play them again for another decade and it is close enough).  Let me know if you want to sign up for anything on this list, or anything that you want that isn’t on the list, but more importantly, let us know if you’re coming and how many to expect with you.  That way we can plan accordingly and we’ll have enough food for everyone!

Lunch:

  • “Medium” Spice Hot Chicken (some “Hot” will be available for the adventurous ones among us!)
  • Bread
  • Pickles
  • Chicken Strips (for the kids, and anyone that thinks “Medium” would be too hot)
  • Ketchup
  • Pimento Mac & Cheese – Alayne
  • Potato Salad – Cat
  • Broccoli Salad
  • Breakfast Sausage Rolls – Jason
  • Chips & Dips – Jason
  • Cake – Angela
  • Cupcakes – Angela

Drinks:

  • Beer
  • Gatorade
  • Cokes
  • Water
  • Beer
